Dead an' gone

Me to the Children's Librarian today at *anonymous public libary*: "Where did the YA fiction section go?"
Librarian: "Oh, we've interfiled them all with the adult fiction books."
Me: "Oh no, why?"
Librarian: "Well, YA fiction is really a dead genre isn't it?"
Me, a knowledgeable, educated and articulate woman: "Hyurrngh?"

I was stunned, to be honest. And my baby was howling his pooey hungry head off at the time.

Sorry guys, I think I failed.

And we leave these people in charge?

Is it time to name and shame?

Ivanhoe library, take a bow.

Was also told that they're lending more YA as a result of moving the books "because teenagers won't go to the junior section but will go to the adult section." Hmm.
